It's only early August and I can see my breath this morning.
Yes, all of you sweltering in other parts of the continent, I could see my breath this morning.
But it's all part of the deal here. I'm used to it.
The one thing I 'm not used to dealing with, is some tight deadlines. I've got to finish a manuscript by Sept 30, paint birdfeeders for a fundraiser and we've been invited to several functions this summer.
Summers are for time off, aren't they?
And yet, we weren't planning to go anywhere for holidays because both our kids are working full time, so we squeezed in some fun activities on weekends. Take this one for instance. We went to the drive in theatre. The triple bill showed Aliens in the Attic first, and to tell you the truth, I loved it! The funniest part came when the kids had to use an old rotary phone! Hilarious!
Well, my fellow campers have made coffee for me, and must go. They're staring to tease me about sitting out in a field by myself.
I guess I'm outstanding in my field.
Groan. It's early. I can see my breath, and I need coffee. What more can I say?

Taking a laptop camping. That just struck me as really funny. My how the world has changed huh?
I enjoyed your post and I too am wondering where summer went. We aren't seeing our breath yet here in Kansas but the calendar tells me time is a tickin'.
Have fun.

Where is the summer going? My thoughts exactly. Thanks.
I always take my laptop camping. We went last week. The morning we were to leave, all the icons disappeared from my laptop. My husband was very pleased. If he knew anything about computers, I'd suspect foul play.
Laptop still broke boo hoo

Barbara,
So great seeing you at RWA! Love your accent...I could hear your voice as I read today's blog.
Good luck with your deadlines. Glad you're finding time to play!
You gals are so nice to drop by and say hello. Pam, a broken laptop! Yikes! I had to force writing while camping, or I would never get the book done. And yes, Sherry, camping has changed. My father insisted on cooking everything over an open fire when we went camping. Old fashioned Coleman stoves were a luxury for us.
But then again, my father thought that Cheerios cereal had too much sugar in them and were therefore a waste of money!
Debbie, I had to laugh when I read your post. My accent? I thought all of you gals had the accent. LOL! Lenora Worth's "bless your heart" was hilarious. I must blog about that some day.
But yes, it was great to meet you and finally put a person to your posts.
And everyone, I hope your summer lasts just a wee bit longer!
I can just imagine kids having to use rotary phones! I hated them myself, especially when someone's phone number had so many zero's. So happy for touchtone!!!
