Today is one of those days that authors love. It's the day I received my author copies of Her Only Protector. The UPS man who dropped off my boxes had no idea why I was so giddy when he handed the boxes over to me. But I knew, even before I looked at the address on the box that they were from Steeple Hill. The boxes had the telltale diamonds that symbolize they came from Harlequin Magazine.
Of course, no one was home at the time when I ripped open the first box and pulled out a copy and did a happy dance in the kitchen. And since I have teenagers, they were less than enthusiastic when I shoved the book in their face as they walked through the door after school.
I'm use to this. This is why I share my writer moments with other authors and readers. Only you, people who have a love of books, can understand how exciting it is when a box of books arrives.
If you're on the Steeple Hill Bookclub, please let me know when you receive the August books! Even though Her Only Protector won't be in bookstores until August 2008, I know bookclub readers will have received their monthly stash and may have read the book. If you do, please email me and let me know your thoughts.
Until next time, many blessings, Lisa Mondello

Hi Lisa,
Isn't it a thrill to see and feel the actual book! Nothing is better . . . at least, as far as writing goes.
I was in a local grocery today and had to stop by the book aisle. I got this little shiver when I realized my books have been and will again be on those shelves. Call me crazy, but I still think I should pinch myself to make sure I'm not dreaming!
Lisa,
I feel the exact same way. I'm always amazed when I get home and am home for awhile and then I see the box of books and say to my husband, "MY BOOKS ARRIVED!" "Uh, yeah." Sometimes they've been hiding in the corner for three hours without his mentioning their arrival. Now, if one of his car parts arrived and I put it in the corner and forgot to tell him...arg.
This sounds like this one is going to be a great read. I will have to add it to my to be read list.
Boxes of books? Sounds like bliss to me.I hate to tell you all this, because it will probably make you cringe, but I just hit a garage sale where I got two grocery bags full of old Steeple Hill books (2005). Let me tell you, I'm excited to dig into those. Congrats on your books!
The first two weeks of May, the kids and I stalked the book aisles at Wal-Mart and other stores that carry LIS. They were more excited than me to find my book on the shelf -- though it is the wallpaper on my cell phone now LOL.
Congrats, Lisa. Enjoy the awesome feeling that comes with opening that box of books!
