Thinking, by the power of three

Recently, I met with friends Cindy Gerard and Kylie Brant for a weekend at a casino hotel midway between our home towns.

Nope, we weren't out enjoying the sights, the shows, or having fine dinners...and we didn't even get close to the casino itself.  We were holed up in the room, working!

We do this once or twice a year---an intensive round of brainstorming for  individual, future projects.

It's amazing, what happens.  The energy, the excitement, the moments of clarity... synergy that  generates ideas which (we hope) will gel into solid story ideas for each of us to work on later.  Cindy and Kylie are amazing, by the way!

By the time the weekend ends, I am deeply thankful to my friends, deeply hope I have been a help to them, and I can't wait to get home to translate my pages of rapidly scribbled notes.  Are you a writer?  Do you ever brainstorm with others?

I love to brainstorm. In fact, Super author Anna Adams and I met at Panera's today for lunch and brainstorming. Both of us came away with great new ideas.

BTW, I love Cindy Gerard and her stories. She's a doll.

Roxanne, Kylie and Cindy are two of my favorite people and writers. Ask Cindy about the time I accidentally spilled her wine on her blouse (at Harlequin headquarters of all places.) What a great group to brainstorm with.

Lenora, now, I thought only I would do something like that! And once, I was the recipient.

Can't remember which RWA conference. It was Harlequin party...though I can't remember it being as big an affair as some. There was a stairway with an art gallery on the upper level, and a waiter carrying a tray of wine glasses up the open staircase dumped an entire glass of wine on my head. I'm sure I smelled like an old wino the rest of the evening!
