CHRISTIMAS CARE BOXES FOR OUR MILITARY
We all know it’s better to give than receive, and what better way to show our thanks to the brave men and women in uniform deployed far from home than to send a Christmas Care Box.
Army Chaplain Kevin Peek hopes to receive gifts for 1,000 soldiers stationed in Iraq this holiday season. Want to help?
Go to your local Post Office and pick up an APO mailing box, which has a flat-rate shipping cost of $10.95. Fill the box with any of the items listed below. Attach a customs declaration, which you’ll also get at the PO, and list the items included, such as books, toiletries, Christmas ornaments.
Mail the Care Box to:
CH (CPT) Kevin Peek
HHC, 2-8 IN
Camp Echo
APO AE 09332
Some items Chaplain Kevin requested for the soldiers are:
Christmas decorations, lights, trees, tinsel, etc, with hooks if needed
Coffee, Q-tips, baby/wet wipes, chocolates, Starbursts, any type of candy, gum, magazines
Toothbrushes, toothpaste, floss, bar/liquid soap, shampoo, conditioner
Shaving cream, razor blades (all types, they can trade for what they need)
Foot powder and creams, Gold Bond, athlete's foot, etc.
Cigarettes, Copenhagen smokeless tobacco, long and short cut
Granola bars, cookies, energy bars, etc., beef jerky, nuts
Puzzle books, suduko, logic, crossword, jumble, etc.
DVDs, video games, daily devotionals, posters, calendars (wall or daily comic ones, i.e. Farside)
Seal toiletries in plastic bags to keep them separate from food items.
There are 10 female soldiers who would like soaps, creams and lotions. If you send a box specifically for a female soldier, please label the outside accordingly.
THANK YOU!!!
This Thanksgiving, I give thanks for all of you and the help you’re able to provide to our military heroes! May the Lord keep you and them in His care.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Wishing you abundant blessings,
